Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jun Fan Lee (ranked 2140 p4p, 1652 weight class) and Vlad Tepes Iii (ranked 272 p4p, 231 weight class). Lee comes into the arena with Bruce Lee Soundtrack blaring out of the sound system. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tepes Iii misses with a low kick.
Lee looks to land a combination but Tepes Iii avoids it well.
Lee on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Tepes Iii. Tepes Iii obviously looking to wear him down.
Lee throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Tepes Iii now looks to counter with a shot at the body.

Some bone on bone action there as Lee checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.

Tepes Iii lands a left hand that snaps the head of Lee backwards.

Tepes Iii wants to take the fight to the mat but Lee manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Lee.

and Tepes Iii takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Tepes Iii scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Lee tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.

and Tepes Iii counters with a nice double leg into side control. Lee won't be happy with that.

Tepes Iii tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Tepes Iii has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Tepes Iii has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Tepes Iii remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Tepes Iii tries to advance to mount but can't.
The referee asks Tepes Iii politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Tepes Iii prefers to stall for the moment though.

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
