PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Jack Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Forest Gump (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gump has a niggling injury. He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Forest Gump!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Ian Loll and Trevor Gratis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jackson throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Gump's waist but Gump gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Jackson off to one side.
Jackson has a takedown stuffed.

Jackson rushes Gump and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Jackson has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Gump is trying to keep an underhook but Jackson manages to get the takedown into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Gump is looking to improve his position.

Jackson is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Jackson is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Gump sees it coming and defends easily.

Jackson has control of Gump's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Gump regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Jackson swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Gump is now in Jackson's guard. A big mistake from Jackson there, giving up the dominant position!

Gump is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Jackson throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Gump looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Jackson feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Jackson thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Jackson is pushing down on Gump's leg trying to pass to half guard. Gump is fighting to maintain full guard but Jackson has managed to sneak the leg through.
