PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Bimbo Slice (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Zenobio Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Silva has chosen Amazing - Kanye West as his entrance music. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the fighters buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Daniel Cesar and Leandro Rodrigues.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva waving his hands out infront of him, looking to distract Slice .
Slice takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Silva throws a series of punches but Slice avoids them all with ease.
Silva fails with an attempt to clinch.
Slice circles away from the clinch attempt.
Silva tries to clinch but Slice moves out of range.
Silva tries for a takedown but Slice sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Slice avoids the head kick by Silva.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Slice swats away the attempt to clinch by Silva.
Silva scores with a jab to the head.

Slice slips under a jab from Silva.
Silva takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Silva cracks Slice with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Slice lands with a straight right. Silva didn't see that one coming.
Silva closes this distance looking for a takedown but Slice circles away.
Slice swats away the attempt to clinch by Silva.
Silva looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Bimbo Slice has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Zenobio Silva.
The crowd cheers as Slice lands an impressive looking overhand right. Silva doesn't seem phased though.

Silva walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Silva misses with a body kick.
Slice avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Slice connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Zenobio Silva seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Silva lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Slice circles away quickly and effectively.
Silva lands a head shot.
Silva scores with a sloppy right hand. Slice should have avoided that one.
Slice connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Slice looks to land a left hand but Silva moved out of range nicely.
Silva is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Slice .

Slice takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.

Slice shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Slice showed some decent athleticism there.
Silva is not content to let Slice control the position.
Silva wants to get back to his feet.
Slice is keen to just control but Silva is a slippery customer.
Slice is pressing down on Silva's thigh, looking to free his foot. Silva is holding on for now.

Slice is looking for a kimura but Silva is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Slice to get the leverage.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Silva tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Silva throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Silva's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Slice ducks down and throws a hook to the body.

Slice shoots for a double leg takedown but Silva sprawls well. He's pushed Slice 's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Silva is looking to stand up but Slice isn't so interested in that idea.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Slice controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Silva takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Silva tests Slice 's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Slice bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Silva's head backwards.
Slice cracks Silva with an open hand slap.

Silva is looking to clinch but Slice is avoiding it.

and Slice counters with a straight right hand.

and Slice counters with a lovely straight right hand!

Slice fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Silva sprawls well initially but Slice persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Silva wants to improve his position but Slice is controlling well.
Silva has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Slice is working away from the top position though.
The fighters are battling for position here. Silva manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

Silva looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Slice has picked Silva up and slammed him! Silva can't keep hold of the triangle and Slice manages to pass to side control!

Slice wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Silva, who protects the arm well.
Slice advances nicely into full mount.

Slice postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Silva looks a forlorn figure.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Slice tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
You get the feeling that Silva really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Slice content just to control the position here.
Silva slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
Silva is on the bottom, trying to hold on to half guard. He's throwing a few small shots here, to keep his opponent honest.
