Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ola Badmus (ranked 2496 p4p, 3424 weight class) and Tim Udrich (ranked 335 p4p, 425 weight class). Tim Udrich is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ola Badmus!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Tim Udrich!
The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, John Kavanagh and Columbo Gatti.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Udrich throws a jab when Badmus was well out of range.
Badmus lands a lovely overhand right.
A looping hook to the body misses from Badmus. Udrich does a little dance to reset his feet.
Badmus works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Badmus throws a jab but it's blocked by Udrich.
Udrich appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body.
Udrich throws a body shot but no joy.
Badmus throws a body punch but Udrich moves out of range.
Udrich now looks to counter with a shot at the body.
Badmus jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Udrich works Badmus's body with a nice hook.
Udrich keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
A big left from Udrich misses.
Badmus lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
The fight stays on the outside here - Udrich looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Badmus throws a body punch but Udrich moves out of range.
Udrich looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Udrich throws the left hand but Badmus avoids the punch easily.

Ola Badmus seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

It looks like Tim Udrich has been cut.
Badmus ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Udrich moves away.
Badmus throws a jab but it's blocked by Udrich.

Badmus uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Udrich.
Badmus throws the left hand but Udrich avoids the punch easily.
Udrich throws a looping overhand right but Badmus ducks down to avoid it.
Udrich throws a jab but it's blocked by Badmus.
Udrich slips under a jab from Badmus.
An inside leg kick from Udrich misses.

Udrich has managed to clinch.
A short right from Udrich.
Udrich pushes off an throws an elbow but Badmus leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.

Badmus pulls Udrich into guard.
Badmus has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Udrich slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Udrich trying to control the position but Badmus is working away.
Badmus might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Badmus can't do much from the bottom here.

Udrich taking a breather here.
Badmus holds on tight, trying to prevent any damage.
Badmus is trying to control Udrich's posture but Udrich avoids it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Udrich staying calm.
Udrich trying to control the action but Badmus is working from the bottom.

Udrich working away.
The referee asks Udrich politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Udrich prefers to stall for the moment though.
Badmus struggling a bit here.
Udrich wants to stand but Badmus has his arm trapped.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

Badmus is not content to let Udrich control the position.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Badmus tries to bench press Udrich off him but Udrich keeps the position.
A lull in the action here as Udrich stalls from top position.
Badmus is in a bad spot here and he knows it... just holding on for now.
Udrich happy to just control the position for now.
Badmus is trying to control Udrich's posture but Udrich avoids it.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Tim Udrich will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Tim Udrich's cut.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Udrich takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Badmus thuds his right hand into Udrich's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Udrich tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Ola Badmus is winning the standup battle so far.
Udrich takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Badmus loads up on a big right hand but Udrich slips the punch.
Udrich tries to clinch up but Badmus circles away and keeps his distance.
Udrich moves away from the strike by Badmus.
Udrich ducks right into an uppercut from Badmus.

Udrich closes the distance and clinches.
Udrich misses with the head strike.
Badmus is trying to pull guard but Udrich turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Badmus blocks an elbow strike.
I was talking to Badmus's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Udrich misses with an elbow strike.

Badmus pulls Udrich into guard.

Udrich is sitting in close to Badmus's body. Badmus has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Udrich is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Udrich is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Badmus.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:55 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Ola Badmus!
A relieved looking Ola Badmus thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
