And in the blue corner, fighting out of St Petersburg, with a TWGC record of 2 wins and 1 losses; Peter Petrov!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Daniel Franklin and Alan Glass.
The official calls the fighters to the middle and the contest is under way.
Lake fails to land the takedown.
Petrov shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Lake napping and manages to drive through into side control! Score +4 for clean takedown past guard: Lake (0) vs (4) Petrov
Petrov tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Lake is not content to let Petrov control the position.
Lake tries to bench press Petrov off him but Petrov keeps the position.
Petrov wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Lake, who protects the arm well.
Petrov looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.

Petrov drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Petrov jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Petrov sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Lake seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Petrov does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Lake is just content to waste time from the top position. Petrov takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Lake got a little sloppy there for a moment and Petrov has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Lake has managed to get both his arms back between Petrov's legs - danger averted.
