Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Eli Goode (ranked 2833 p4p, 3714 weight class) and Jim Fish (ranked 378 p4p, 459 weight class). Goode comes to the cage accompanied by Colby Covington, Kurt Angle Music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Eli Goode!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jim Fish!
The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, Chris Edwards and Colin Fotheringham.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Goode gets a clinch.
A short right from Goode on the inside.
A frustrated look appears on Fish's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Fish looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.

Fish breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Goode avoids a lazy jab quite easily.

Fish is trying to force a seperation but Goode has the dominant position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Goode lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Goode scores with an uppercut up the middle.
Goode keeps control of Fish as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Goode's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Goode takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Goode with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Fish to score with a decent uppercut.

Donk. Fish catches Goode right on the button with a cross.

Goode chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Fish can pounce on him.

Fish throws a good cross that connects.
Goode misses with an uppercut. Fish saw that one coming.

Goode drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Fish bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

Goode slips under a jab from Fish.
Fish misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Goode.
Fish lands a nice hook to Goode's body. Goode takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Fish tests Goode's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Goode takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

Goode closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Goode has Fish pressed against the cage, preventing Fish from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Fish pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Fish throws out a loose jab but Goode uses good head movement to avoid it.
Fish smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Fish throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Goode looks to land a right hand but Fish moved out of range.
A combination from Fish does no damage.
Fish jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Fish misses with a body kick.

Fish throws a hook but Goode avoids it easily.
Fish punishes Goode's body with a nice straight punch.
Goode is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Fish.

enabling Goode to counter with a crisp jab.

It looks like Jim Fish has been cut.
Fish uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Goode.
Fish lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
A clash of legs there as Goode blocks the low kick.
Goode walks into a left hand.
Fish throws a head kick but Goode moves out of range.
Fish listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
Fish throws a low kick but Goode moves out of range easily.
Fish lands a nice hook to Goode's body. Goode takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

Goode gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Fish dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Goode. That did some damage!

Fish is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Goode had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into mush.

Fish has had enough of the clinch but Goode keeps him there for the moment.
Goode is really struggling to find his range with his punches. Fish's reach advantage is clearly causing him problems.
Goode lands a body shot.
I was talking to Goode's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Goode is struggling to control the position.
Goode lands a body punch in the clinch.
Goode lands a left hand that snaps the head of Fish backwards.
A right handed body shot lands from Goode.
Fish looks winded!
Goode stalls.
Goode tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Fish's elbow.
Fish can't break the clinch.
Fish blocking some punches.
Fish tries to break the clinch but Goode is controlling the position.
Fish is trying to force a seperation but Goode has the dominant position.
Goode lands a hook to the side of the head.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Goode throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Fishs head.

Fish breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Jim Fish dominated that round.

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!

Jim Fish seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Fish connects with a body shot that sends Goode's belly button to the back.
Goode slips a straight right by Fish.
Goode throwing a counter right hand but Fish manages to avoid it.
We've been informed that Fish has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
Goode scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.

Fish is rocked!
Goode is looking for an opening here. He's unloaded a big left hand that catches Fish flush on the jaw and sends him tumbling to the canvas! Fish is out cold! Goode holds back from landing any unnecessary shots to his unconscious opponent, as the referee reacts slowly to the situation. A brutal knockout and then some excellent sportsmanship - this guy is my new favorite fighter!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:20 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Eli Goode!
After the fight, Eli Goode was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
