The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
King throws out a loose jab but Corona uses good head movement to avoid it.
Nice defenses there by Corona.
Corona slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
King has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

Corona is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

King cracks Corona with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as King checks a leg kick.
Twea King seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
King throws the left hand but Corona avoids the punch easily.

and Corona counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
King is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

King drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Corona is pulling down on King's head. It's preventing any offense from King, at least for the moment.

King got a little sloppy there for a moment and Corona has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, King has managed to get both his arms back between Corona's legs - danger averted.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
King is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
King wants to control from the top but Corona keeps moving.

We've been informed that Corona has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.

King changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Corona looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Corona is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked King off and has taken his back!

Corona is working for the choke. I would put my money on him to finish from this position. He's rolled onto his back and has dragged King with him. King is trying to defend but Corona has an arm under the chin now! King grimaces and is forced to tap out!

Juan Corona decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
