This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the super heavyweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of Amsterdam, with a TWGC record of 4 wins and 13 losses; Lance Walker! And in the blue corner, fighting out of St Petersburg, with a TWGC record of 5 wins and 4 losses; Dani Gerbandi!
The judges for this bout are Percy O'Donnell, Jack Bonds and Don Winkell.


The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way.

Gerbandi pushes Walker up against the cage in a clinch.

Gerbandi drags the fight down to the ground.
Gerbandi can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Walker controls the pace.

Gerbandi has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Walker can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Walker's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Walker pushes down on Gerbandi's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Walker wants to lay and pray for a moment but Gerbandi keeps working.
Gerbandi is trying to get back to full guard.

Gerbandi is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Walker content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
If it seems like I'm not saying a lot, it's just because Walker is stinking the place up with his stalling.

Walker is taking a breather. Gerbandi says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Walker is trying to control the action in half guard but Gerbandi is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Walker has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
This is a sustained period of stalling by Walker.

Oh but Gerbandi is tightening it up a little... Walker has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Walker reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Walker taps out! Nice BJJ there by Gerbandi!
