PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Mike Camble (ranked 367 p4p, 156 weight class) and Wilfred Ainsworth (ranked 52 p4p, 22 weight class). Ainsworth is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Fred Neil - Everybody's Talkin'. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 18 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mike Camble!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 23 - 10 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Wilfred Ainsworth!
The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, Sam Margolis and Daniel Bishop.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ainsworth motions for Camble to come forward. Ainsworth throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
The fighters circling - Camble throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Ainsworth misses with a jab, cross combination.
Camble swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Ainsworth scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Camble looks to land a left hand but Ainsworth moved out of range nicely.
Camble fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Ainsworth avoids it really well and circles away.
Ainsworth checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Ainsworth looks like he wants to counter punch here.

Ainsworth looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Camble lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Camble misses with a takedown attempt - Ainsworth sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Camble throws a hook to the side of Ainsworth's head but Ainsworth sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Camble takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Ainsworth throws an overhand right that lands on Camble's shoulder, as Camble tries to avoid the shot.
Camble throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Camble will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

and Camble counters with a nice double leg into side control. Ainsworth won't be happy with that.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Camble checks a leg kick.

and Ainsworth counters with a low kick, right behind Camble 's knee.
Ainsworth cracks Camble with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.

Camble ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Ainsworth moves away.

Mike Camble seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Ainsworth lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Camble has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Camble and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Wilfred Ainsworth is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Camble fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Ainsworth appeared to try and counter that last move with a leg kick.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Nice takedown defense from Ainsworth. No joy for Camble on that attempt.
Ainsworth does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Ainsworth has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Camble is really struggling to control Ainsworth but he's trying to hold on to the position.

Camble seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Ainsworth does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Ainsworth might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Camble haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Camble lands a nice short elbow.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Mike Camble.
I think Ainsworth has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
