PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bruce Leroy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jake White (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). White has chosen Doperide by Saliva as his entrance music. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Jake White was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Bruce Leroy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jake White!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, George Francis and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Leroy has taken the fight to the clinch.

White pulls guard successfully.
White keeping moving, preventing Leroy from controlling successfully.
Leroy has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of White is proving hard to escape from.
Leroy postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Leroy wants to pass the guard but White is keeping the position.
Leroy is looking to work some ground and pound but White has wrist control.
Leroy trying to control the position from guard on top but White is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Leroyis looking to pass into half guard but White pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now White is in guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Leroy is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
White is in trouble now - Leroy has advanced to mount!

White takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.

Leroy has hold of White's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and White manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
White avoids a series of strikes thrown by Leroy.
White regains half guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

White had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Leroy is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. White Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Leroy's back instead.
Leroy breaks White's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.

Leroy passes easily into side control. Nice work.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Leroy looking to punish the body of his opponent here but White is avoiding damage well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
White manages to work his way to half guard, despite Leroy's best efforts.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Leroy seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Leroy misses with a head shot. White uses the momentum to regain guard.

White keeping moving, preventing Leroy from controlling successfully.

Leroy would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

White closes the distance and clinches up with Leroy, looking for a takedown. White pushes Leroy against the cage but Leroy circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
White tries to clinch there but Leroy circles away.
Leroy moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
White changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Leroy tries to avoid it but White manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Leroy to the ground. Leroy escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Leroy misses the shot to the body.
Leroy tries to close the distance and clinch up but White swats him away and circles back towards the center.

A nice glancing elbow lands by White.
A nice right hand lands inside from White.
White gets underhooks to prevent Leroy's takedown attempt.

Leroy bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Leroy lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

Leroy is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for White!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Leroy has control of White's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and White regains control of the situation pretty easily.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

White takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Leroy is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. White can't fight it off and eventually Leroy manages to take the fight to the floor. White looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

White gets control of Leroy's arms and successfully pulls guard. White will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Leroy accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Bruce Leroy is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Leroy looking to sit in guard and control but White gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
White wants to stand but Leroy has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

White drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and White jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

And that's the end of the fight!
Bruce Leroy showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Leroy, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
