Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Rogerio Rodrigo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Liste Pik!
The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Skip Squint and Damien Edna.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rodrigo shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Pik but Pik pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Rodrigo tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Pik was well out of range. Poor timing from Rodrigo.
Pik avoids the body shot from Rodrigo.
Pik clinches with his opponent.
Pik drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Rodrigo gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Rodrigo gets underhooks to prevent Pik's takedown attempt.
Rodrigo drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Pik breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Pik shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Rodrigo counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Pik!
Rogerio Rodrigo has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Liste Pik.
Pik tries to lock up and control but Rodrigo gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Pik swinging wildly from the bottom but he's not landing.

Pik is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Pik wants to control but Rodrigo is having none of it.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Rodrigo's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

and Pik counters with a single leg into guard. Rodrigo didn't expect that.

Rodrigo has his foot on Pik's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Pik works his way back into a safe position though.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Rodrigo lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

Rodrigo is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Pik has managed to escape the submission attempt.

Pik ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

That was a close second round but I would say that Rogerio Rodrigo will probably get the nod.

Pik is stalling here. Rodrigo is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Pik seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Rodrigo has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Rodrigo cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Rodrigo, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
