Johnson comes to the cage accompanied by Don't say nuthin'. McGuire has chosen Johnny Cash - God's Gonna Cut You Down as his entrance music. Karim Johnson had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johnson looks to land a body kick but McGuire moved away.
McGuire replies with a solid counter kick to the body but Johnson blocks it well.
Kevin McGuire seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A low kick lands for Johnson.
Johnson lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Johnson misses with a low kick as McGuire jumps back.

Johnson is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by McGuire.

McGuire rushes Johnson and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
McGuire digs a right hand underneath Johnson's ribcage. Johnson let out a lung full of air as it connected.
I was talking to Johnson's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Johnson throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.

McGuire blocks an uppercut.
McGuire doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Johnson tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
With the two fighters working up against the cage, McGuire just misses with a elbow thrown towards Johnson's brow.

McGuire gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Johnson regains guard.
Johnson wants to sweep here but McGuire controlling him for the moment.

Johnson takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
McGuire throws a body punch but Johnson moves out of range.
McGuire fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Johnson manages to avoid it.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from McGuire.
McGuire misses with a combination
and Johnson counters with an inside leg kick.
Johnson lands a slapping body shot.
Johnson is looking to land body kicks.
McGuire replies with a solid counter kick to the body but Johnson blocks it well.
Johnson keeps McGuire at a distance using the push kick.
McGuire looks winded!

Johnson fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Johnson lands a jab to the nose.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Johnson cracks McGuire with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! McGuire looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Johnson finish him?

It looks like Kevin McGuire has been cut.
McGuire tries to clinch up.
Karim Johnson is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Johnson takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
A head kick misses from McGuire.
McGuire moves out of range of the strikes.
Johnson lands with a thumping leg kick.

Donk. McGuire catches Johnson right on the button with a cross.

McGuire wants to slow Johnson down by chopping away at his legs.

and Johnson counters with a nice body shot.
Johnson steps in with a hook that catches McGuire right on the chin and knocks him to the floor! Johnson follows him down with more strikes and that's all she wrote! McGuire looks absolutely devastated.
