Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Mbape Smooth (ranked 4617 p4p, 3500 weight class) and Arturito Tampukpuk (ranked 510 p4p, 447 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Mbape Smooth!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Arturito Tampukpuk!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Alec Ball and William Peck.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smooth throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Smooth lands a glancing blow to the side of Tampukpuk's head.
Smooth throws a lazy uppercut
and Tampukpuk counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Smooth throws a solid leg kick but Tampukpuk takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Smooth.
Tampukpuk looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Tampukpuk looks to throw the jab but Smooth is out of range.
We've been told by Smooth's head coaches at Cloud9 that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Tampukpuk keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Smooth feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Tampukpuks jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Smooth throws a chopping leg kick but Tampukpuk manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
Tampukpuk is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.
Tampukpuk tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Smooth is able to avoid easily.
Smooth swings and misses with a hook to the body.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Smooth explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work.
Smooth throws a half hearted mid kick.
Smooth lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Smooth with a body punch. A glancing blow.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Tampukpuk scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.

Smooth getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
Tampukpuk wants to clinch but Smooth slips to the side
and Smooth counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Smooth connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Tampukpuk is rocked!
Smooth is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.
Smooth dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Tampukpuk. That did some damage!
Smooth just misses with a punch to the body.
Nice uppercut lands for Smooth. That snapped Tampukpuk's head back.

Tampukpuk unleashes a big counter combination but Smooth bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
Smooth is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
Smooth stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Tampukpuk.
Smooth digs a good hook to Tampukpuk's body.
Tampukpuk throws out a powerful jab.
Smooth throws a combination. Tampukpuk tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Smooth throws a lazy right hand but Tampukpuk sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Smooth throws a leg kick which misses Tampukpuk's front leg but catches the back leg as Tampukpuk tries to avoid it.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Smooth drops Tampukpuk with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Tampukpuk looks back up at him and smiles so Smooth waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Tampukpuk is still on wobbly legs! Can Smooth finish him?
A solid body kick from Smooth.
Smooth connects with a leg kick.
Tampukpuk seems to have recovered his senses.
Smooth lands a nice shot that snaps Tampukpuk's head back.
Smooth looks for a left high kick but can't connect. Smooth backs up to catch a breather... no he lunges forward with a huge flying knee that smacks Tampukpuk's temple! It sends Tampukpuk violently to the canvas! The crowd goes nuts as Smooth celebrates and the doctors try to help Tampukpuk!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:24 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Flying Knee). Mbape Smooth!
