In the red corner, competing out of Las Vegas, with a TWGC record of 3 wins and 1 losses; Simon Cross! And in the blue corner, fighting out of London, with a TWGC record of 5 wins and 2 losses; Olyksandr Chai!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Percy O'Donnell and Jack Bonds.


The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way.

Cross closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Chai tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Cross wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Cross controls the position from side control.
Cross's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Chai is looking for a sweep.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Chai is looking to regain half guard here but Cross keeps moving and retains side control.
Cross takes a little break here. Chai wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
Chai manages to get back to half guard.
Chai has a hand on Cross's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Cross takes advantage of the position though and mounts him!

Cross seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Chai does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Chai rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.

Chai is in trouble now - Cross has advanced to mount!

Cross jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Chai is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Chai and Cross has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Cross is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Chai's shoulder. That is not cool.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Chai tries to improve position but can't.
Cross trying to control the action but Chai is working from the bottom.

And that's the end of the fight!
Cross takes the fight on points by 25 to 6.
