The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
vazquez lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Youseph circles away quickly and effectively.
Youseph is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
A head kick misses from vazquez.

Youseph scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
vazquez moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

vazquez is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

vazquez isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Youseph stacks vazquez on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Youseph!

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Youseph sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed vazquez's guard.
Youseph wants to control but vazquez is keeping him busy.

Youseph is sneakily working for an arm triangle but vazquez sees it coming and defends easily.

Youseph is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so vazquez is just riding it out for now. Youseph eventually gives up the hold.
