PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mew Choo (ranked 1459 p4p, 2701 weight class) and Billy Cubbedge (ranked 223 p4p, 378 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Choo lands a jab to the nose.

Cubbedge decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Cubbedge is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Choo doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Cubbedge .

Cubbedge looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Choo tries to get to full guard but Cubbedge has control of the leg.

Choo has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Cubbedge is working away from the top position though.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Cubbedge working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.

It looks like Mew Choo has been cut.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Cubbedge wants to pass the guard but Choo is defending well.
Choo is looking for a sweep. Cubbedge is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Cubbedge is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Cubbedge can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Choo is looking to escape.

Choo is squirming around, avoiding Cubbedge 's attempts to control the action.

Cubbedge goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Choo turns into him and now he's in Cubbedge 's guard.

Choo looking to sit in guard and control but Cubbedge gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Cubbedge wants to pass the guard but Choo is keeping the position.
Cubbedge throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Choo works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Cubbedge is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Cubbedge is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Choo is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Cubbedge lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.

Mew Choo's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.

Cubbedge is in full mount looking to finish with strikes. He lands a big shot, followed by another and Choo goes limp! The ref jumps in to end the fight - a big win for Cubbedge !
