Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Der Hund (ranked 5865 p4p, 4228 weight class) and Tom Samson (ranked 0 p4p, 430 weight class). Tom Samson will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Der Hund! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Tom Samson! The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, Jorge Garcia and Dean Styles.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Samson gets a clinch. Hund manages to pull guard.
Hund is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Samson is stalling in the full guard. Let's hope that Samson has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. Hund pulls Samson in close to prevent any damage. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Samson wants to control from the top but Hund keeps moving. Samson with a flurry of punches that miss.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Hund shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Samson as he jumps to the side. Samson fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Hund, pushing him back against the cage. The pace really dropping off here, momentarily. Hund is defending well against a takedown attempt. Samson prevents the takedown attempt.
Hund is trying to pull guard but Samson has him pressed against the cage. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Der Hund. That's going to take a lot out of him. Samson tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Hund just stands there and leans against the cage. Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Hund.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Samson drops down looking for an ankle pick but Hund pulls his leg out and moves away.
Samson goes for a double leg but Hund avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Hund continues to drive forward. Samson throws a head kick but Hund moves out of range.
Samson fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Hund shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Hund showed some decent athleticism there. Samson trying to control but Hund postures up.
Samson wants to get back to full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hund seems to be working for a kimura but Samson defends the submission attempt. Hund passes the guard and advances to mount! Hund tries to control but Samson wriggling away. Hund looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Samson has given up his back here.
Samson is in bad spot here.
Samson turns into Hund and is now in his guard.
Hund knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Samson on the ground. Samson slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Samson pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Hund is keeping the position for now. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Hund is trying to keep Samson in close.

That was a close round but I would say that Der Hund will probably get the nod. That's time! Back to the action! Samson fails miserably with a takedown attempt. The fight moves into the clinch position. Hund pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Hund gets tackled into the cage by Samson. Samson maintains the clinch. Hund scores with a hook to the body. Hund drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Hund landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Hund seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Samson moves into full guard.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Samson shoots in looking for a takedown but Hund manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Samson's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Hund misses with an uppercut. Hund moves into the clinch successfully.
Hund misses with a knee to the head. Hund working Samson over with knees to the body. Hund breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Hund tries to clinch up. Samson has taken the fight to the clinch.
Hund goes for a takedown in the clinch but Samson prevents it.

Samson tries to break free but Hund pushes him back against the cage. Samson effectively controlling the action here. Hund has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Samson regains guard immediately. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Hund trying to control the position from guard on top but Samson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Samson is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Der Hund dominated that second round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round! Nice takedown defense from Hund. No joy for Samson on that attempt. Samson fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Hund throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Samson. Hund throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Samson. Samson looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it. Hund is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Samson can do to turn this around? Nice sprawl there from Samson as Hund shoots in. Hund has Samson up against the cage in a clinch.

Hund seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Hund controlling the action here. Samson is refusing to be controlled, as Hund sits in half guard.

Samson is trying to maintain the position but Hund is very close to passing his half guard. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Samson looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Hund stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Samson to get to his feet. Samson gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Samson shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Hund sprawls well. Hund wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Samson gets slowly back to his feet. Hund fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Samson to the ground. Hund is now in Samson's guard. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Hund decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Hund tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Samson swivels and escapes.
And that's the end of the fight! Der Hund showed his dominance in that final round. Well Hund has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
