A fine choice. Renato Augusto Augusto has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Augusto looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Jones is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Augusto's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Augusto's back!

Jones has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Augusto has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
Augusto is trying to get back to his feet but Jones has full control of the position and if anything, Augusto has just worked his way into a worse spot.

Jones is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.
Augusto really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Jones is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Augusto knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Augusto for a finish.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Jones gets his hands free as Augusto looks to control.

Augusto rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Augusto preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Augusto tries to kick Jones off but Jones keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Marcus Jones dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Augusto changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Jones tries to avoid it but Augusto manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Jones to the ground. Jones escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Jones feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Augusto will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Jones drops back looking for a leg! Augusto is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Augusto manages to kick Jones off! Jones jumps back into Augusto's guard.

Jones postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Augusto is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Jones, into his guard.
Jones is breathing heavily.

Augusto stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Jones swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Augusto in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

Jones had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Augusto is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Jones Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Augusto's back instead.

That's time! Augusto's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

and Jones counters with a nice double leg into guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Augusto pulls Jones in close to prevent any damage.
Augusto is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Jones gets to his feet - Augusto follows without any prompting.
Jones doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Augusto counters with a single leg into guard. Jones didn't expect that.

Jones has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Augusto should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Jones has tightened it up now! Augusto should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
