Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Valdo Calamari (ranked 1891 p4p, 2094 weight class) and Macho Man Randy (ranked 251 p4p, 277 weight class). Calamari comes to the cage accompanied by Bellini - Samba Do Brasil. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Randy has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Calamari finds it's way round the side to connect with Randy's head.
Randy looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Calamari is fending him off so far but Randy persists. Nope, Calamari circles away and we're back to standing.

We've been hearing reports that Calamari has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.

Randy changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Calamari tries to avoid it but Randy manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Calamari to the ground. Calamari escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Calamari lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Calamari.
Calamari loads up on a big right hand but Randy slips the punch.
Randy unleashes a big counter combination but Calamari bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
Calamari uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Randy.
Calamari slaps away a takedown attempt from Randy, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Randy gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Calamari is standing up over Randy. Randy looks to escape but Calamari dives into side control.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Calamari wants to lay and pray for a moment but Randy keeps working.

Calamari throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Randy was covering up waiting for the punch and Calamari finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Calamari got a little sloppy there for a moment and Randy has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Calamari has managed to get both his arms back between Randy's legs - danger averted.

Randy is looking to cinch up a triangle. Calamari throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Randy's body to avoid the submission. Randy has instead reached around Calamari's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Randy arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
