Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Daniel Lewis (ranked 4424 p4p, 4288 weight class) and Kyo Yamamoto (ranked 563 p4p, 554 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Daniel Lewis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Kyo Yamamoto!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Yves DeLean and Ian Loll.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Yamamoto moves into the clinch.
Yamamoto tries to score a body lock takedown but Lewis shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Lewis is looking to take this one to the mat.
Lewis fails to pull guard.
Yamamoto is trying to force a seperation but Lewis has the dominant position.
Yamamoto has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Lewis is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Lewis has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Yamamoto after a bit of a struggle.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Yamamoto keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Lewis's efforts to push away.
Lewis goes for a takedown attempt but Yamamoto pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Yamamoto shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Lewis as he jumps to the side.
Lewis lands with a straight right. Yamamoto didn't see that one coming.
Yamamoto lands a jab to Lewis's midsection.

Lewis jumps guard but Yamamoto stands there with Lewis around his waist. Lewis gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Lewis tries to break the clinch but Yamamoto is controlling the position.
Lewis wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Yamamoto has him pressed against the cage.
Lewis is breathing heavily.
Lewis tries to break free but Yamamoto pushes him back against the cage.
Lewis is looking to control Yamamoto's arms but Yamamoto gets an underhook and turns him. Now Lewis has his back to the cage.
Yamamoto tries to break the clinch but Lewis is controlling the position.
Lewis is trying to push Yamamoto away but Yamamoto has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
A right hook to the body lands for Yamamoto.
A bit of stalling here from Yamamoto.
Lewis is pressed up against the cage. Yamamoto has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Lewis down to the mat. Lewis avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Daniel Lewis seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Yamamoto drops down looking for an ankle pick but Lewis pulls his leg out and moves away.

Yamamoto fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Lewis, pushing him back against the cage.
Yamamoto blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Yamamoto tries to circle away but Lewis has him pinned against the cage.
Yamamoto makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.

Yamamoto wants to take the fight to the mat but Lewis manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Lewis wants to break free but Yamamoto has control.

Yamamoto seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Kyo Yamamoto dominated that round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!

Yamamoto works over Lewis's head and body with a nice combination.

It looks like Daniel Lewis has been cut.
Yamamoto moves out of range as Lewis strikes.
Yamamoto will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Yamamoto drops Lewis with a beautiful combination! Lewis stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Yamamoto is looking for the KO!

Yamamoto has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Lewis avoids the head kick by Yamamoto.
Oh Lewis is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Yamamoto shoots in looking for a takedown but Lewis manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Yamamoto's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Lewis seems to have got his legs back now.

A nice side step and Yamamoto releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.

Yamamoto throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Lewis is trying to drag Yamamoto to the mat but Yamamoto just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Yamamoto ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Yamamoto no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Yamamoto working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Lewis doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Lewis manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Lewis stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Lewis wants it to stay on the feet.
Lewis misses with an uppercut.
Yamamoto changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Lewis tries to avoid it but Yamamoto manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Lewis to the ground. Lewis escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Yamamoto dives in for a single leg takedown but Lewis sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Kyo Yamamoto seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Yamamoto throws a head kick but Lewis moves out of range.
Lewis is looking to counter the offense by Yamamoto and move into the clinch.
Yamamoto scores with a one two! Lewis had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.

Lewis has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Yamamoto thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Yamamoto is on top in guard.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Kyo Yamamoto showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Yamamoto is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Lewis wants to stand but Yamamoto is controlling his posture from full guard.
Yamamoto bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Lewis's guard.

Yamamoto decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Lewis, up you get!

Lewis can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Yamamoto controls the pace.
Let's hope that Yamamoto has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Yamamoto's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

Yamamoto drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Yamamoto jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Kyo Yamamoto comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Yamamoto has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
