Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kyo Yamamoto (ranked 4547 p4p, 24562 weight class) and Charlie Simmer (ranked 547 p4p, 634 weight class). Simmer has chosen Lynyrd Skynyrd - Swamp Music as his entrance music. Charlie Simmer is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Charlie Simmer!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Alan Glass and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Yamamoto tries to clinch but Simmer moves out of range.
Simmer raises up his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick.
Yamamoto scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Simmer tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Yamamoto swivels and escapes.

Simmer closes the distance and clinches.
Simmer tries a knee to the head but Yamamoto blocks it.
Yamamoto is working for takedown but Simmer is calmly controlling the position for now.

Simmer bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

Simmer throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Simmer pushes Yamamoto up against the cage in a clinch.
Simmer digs a right hand into Yamamoto's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Yamamoto's gas tank.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Well Simmer has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
