Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Midick Aiken (ranked 175 p4p, 244 weight class) and Rex Gunn (ranked 8 p4p, 17 weight class). Aiken comes to the cage accompanied by N.W.A - Straight Outta Compton. Gunn has chosen Miami as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the bantamweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 27 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rex Gunn!
The judges for this bout are Darius Henderson, Hugh Johnson and Steve Erwin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gunn throws a big shot that misses.
Aiken swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Aiken rushes Gunn and presses him up against the cage.

Gunn breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Aiken has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

Aiken is working Gunn over against the cage.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

It seemed like Gunn was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Aiken defending well as Gunn loads up on a big left hand.
Aiken fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Gunn.
Midick Aiken seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Aiken is looking to clinch but Gunn is avoiding it.

Gunn lands a left hand that snaps the head of Aiken backwards.

Gunn breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
A kick lands to the mid section there for Aiken.
Aiken displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Gunn throws out the jab.

Aiken lands a head shot.
Gunn ducks under a wild hook from Aiken.
Gunn keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Gunn walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Aiken lands with a nice body punch.

A nice side step and Gunn releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.

Aiken jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Aiken lands a lovely overhand right.
Aiken avoids a punch combination nicely.
Aiken lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Aiken misses with a lunging right hand
and Gunn counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Aiken swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Gunn takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Aiken lands a glancing blow to the side of Gunn's head.
Gunn missing with a left hand there. Aiken was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Gunn pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Gunn smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Midick Aiken dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.

Aiken misses with a hook to the body

A little jabbing left from Gunn on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Gunn is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Aiken.
Gunn swats away the attempt to clinch by Aiken.
Gunn circles away from the clinch attempt.
Gunn connects with a jab.
Aiken throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Gunn counters with a big right hand! Oh Aiken is in trouble here! Gunn follows up with more strikes and that's it! The ref has stopped it!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:37 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Rex Gunn!
