Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Kody Dangerfield (ranked 1509 p4p, 1850 weight class) and Rado Ratsifa (ranked 169 p4p, 208 weight class). Kody Dangerfield has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Kody Dangerfield!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Rado Ratsifa!
The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, Reed Andrews and Anthony Taglia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A jab from Ratsifa misses.

Dangerfield closes the distance and pushes Ratsifa back into the cage.
Dangerfield is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Ratsifa gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Ratsifa working some nice short punches in the clinch.
Dangerfield can't get the takedown.
Ratsifa prevents the takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kody Dangerfield. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Ratsifa throws a punch but it's blocked by Dangerfield.
Ratsifa misses with the head strike.
Dangerfield has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Ratsifa is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Ratsifa working some nice short punches in the clinch.
Ratsifa fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Dangerfield is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Ratsifa creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Dangerfield.
Dangerfield has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Ratsifa is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Dangerfield gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Ratsifa is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Dangerfield is controlling him.
Ratsifa being controlled here, momentarily.
Dangerfield has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Ratsifa looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Dangerfield won't allow Ratsifa to get back to his feet.
Dangerfield trying to control the position from guard on top but Ratsifa is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Ratsifa wants to stand up but Dangerfield is controlling him.
Dangerfield slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Ratsifa wants to stand but Dangerfield is controlling the position.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Dangerfield shoots in and gets a takedown into Ratsifa's guard.
Dangerfield won't allow Ratsifa to get back to his feet.
Dangerfield looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.
Dangerfield controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Ratsifa wants to stand up but Dangerfield is controlling him.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Dangerfield pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Ratsifa is keeping the position for now.
Ratsifa is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Ratsifa can't keep his opponent in guard - Dangerfield advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Ratsifa is looking to escape.
Dangerfield content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Dangerfield seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Ratsifa for as long as he can get away with.
Dangerfield moves nicely into side control.
Dangerfield works to advance to full mount. Ratsifa defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
Ratsifa really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Dangerfield. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
You get the feeling that Ratsifa really doesn't like being in this position too much.

Dangerfield working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Ratsifa turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Dangerfield off and cradles Ratsifa's limp body as Dangerfield celebrates with his corner.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:24 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Anaconda Choke). Kody Dangerfield!
After winning the bout, Kody Dangerfield thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
