Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Steven Glass (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and dave jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). jones is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by yes. dave jones has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, James Atkins and Andrew Berry.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Glass checks a leg kick nicely.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from jones is defended easily by Glass.
dave jones seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
The fighters circle momentarily. jones darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Glass moves out of range as jones strikes.

Glass shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Glass was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Glass looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
jones is trying desperately to improve position.

Glass jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… jones is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by jones and Glass has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Glass has his foot on jones's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. jones works his way back into a safe position though.

Glass has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. jones is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Glass.
jones works to advance to full mount. Glass defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.

dave jones showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

That was a close round but Steven Glass did the better work so I'd imagine he'll take it.
