Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Aonghus Mormaer (ranked 342 p4p, 900 weight class) and Jin Yi (ranked 44 p4p, 129 weight class). Yi has chosen Wobble as his entrance music. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 19 - 13 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Aonghus Mormaer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 9 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Jin Yi!
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, James Ackerman and Richard Clark.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mormaer feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Yis jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Mormaer throws a jab but it's blocked by Yi.
Mormaer throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Yi sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Yi connects with a solid leg kick.
Yi shoots in but no luck this time.
Mormaer goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Yi blocks a head kick by Mormaer.
A nice inside leg kick there by Mormaer. That's going to slow Yi down.
Mormaer has been working on his boxing with his coaches at The Infamous Duranto Gym in the buildup to the fight.
Mormaer moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Aonghus Mormaer seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Yi connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Mormaer clobbers Yi with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.

And Yi tries to counter it with a takedown but Mormaer pushes his down on his head and steps out.

Yi let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land.

Mormaer clinches up with Yi and pushes him back against the cage.

Mormaer jumps guard and drags Yi to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Yi isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Mormaer stacks Yi on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Mormaer!

Mormaer is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Yi's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Yi's back!

Mormaer is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Yi defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Mormaer tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Yi was well out of range. Poor timing from Mormaer.
Yi lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Aonghus Mormaer is winning the standup battle so far.

and Yi counters with a thumping low kick.

Mormaer is trying to maintain a safe position but Yi gets an underhook and turns Mormaer into the cage.

Yi turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Yi manages to end up in side control.
