Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Alika Hakekia (ranked 260 p4p, 284 weight class) and James Cole (ranked 44 p4p, 49 weight class). Hakekia kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is GOD SAVE THE QUEEN . Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 29 - 16 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Alika Hakekia!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 28 - 14 - 3, fighting out of New York, James Cole!
The judges for this bout are Ben Watson, Hugh Johnson and Francis DeMontford.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hakekia misses with a hook
and Cole counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Cole stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Hakekia.
Hakekia throws a lazy right hand but Cole sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Hakekia feints and then cracks Cole's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Cole down.
Hakekia throws a push kick but Cole slaps the foot to one side.

and Cole counters with a lovely straight right hand!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Hakekia throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Cole stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

As Hakekia backs off Cole throws a huge counter combo but Hakekia manages to avoid it all.

Cole misses with a lunging right hand
and Hakekia counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Cole is looking to slow Hakekia down with leg kicks.
Hakekia throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Hakekia scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Hakekia throws a big shot that misses.

Hakekia lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Hakekia lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.

Both these guys seem content to just stand up and trade with each other but Cole might want to think about changing up his gameplan a bit because over the course of the fight, Hakekia has got the better of the exchanges.

A very excited looking James Cole rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
The defeated Alika Hakekia had this to say: 'Im Sorry Uso'.
