Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Frank Cote!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ryan Lesnar!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, William Peck and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lesnar shoots in for a takedown but Cote shows good takedown defense.

Cote shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Lesnar's guard.
Lesnar keeping full guard, as Cote tries to pass.
Cote has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Lesnar trying to control the position.
Cote throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Cote tries to free his leg and advance position but Lesnar is retaining full guard.
Cote won't allow Lesnar to sweep him here.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Lesnar moves into range and clinches up with Cote.
Lesnar has Cote pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Cote manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Lesnar is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Cote gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Frank Cote has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ryan Lesnar.
Lesnar tries to pull guard but Cote holds him up against the cage and eventually Lesnar drops back down to his feet.

Cote wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Cote uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Lesnar keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Cote is not content to let Lesnar control the position.
Lesnar lands some shots froms side control.

Lesnar is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Cote knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Lesnar wants to control but Cote is keeping him busy.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
You can see the frustration on Cote's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Cote is looking for a sweep.
Lesnar wants to lay and pray for a moment but Cote keeps working.

Lesnar is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Cote has escaped the position, nice work there.
Cote is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Lesnar off and has taken his back!

Cote connects with a series of strikes and the referee is calling for Lesnar to escape the position.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Lesnar tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!

Lesnar regains full guard. Nicely done.

Lesnar manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Cote manages to get himself to full guard.

Lesnar drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Lesnar jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Cote pulls Lesnar in close to prevent any damage.

Cote has his foot on Lesnar's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Lesnar works his way back into a safe position though.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Cote is on top in guard.

Cote avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Cote slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
You can see the frustration on Lesnar's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Lesnar manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.

Cote looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Cote wants to work for an arm triangle but Lesnar is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Cote is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.

Cote stands up and beckons Lesnar to join him on the feet.
Lesnar has his takedown stuffed

and Cote holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Cote is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Frank Cote will probably get the nod.
That's time! Cote's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Lesnar shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Cote counters with a single leg into guard. Lesnar didn't expect that.

Cote makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Cote trying to control but Lesnar is working from the bottom.

Lesnar manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Cote bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

Cote stands up over Lesnar, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Cote passes Lesnar's left leg - he's now in half guard.

Cote is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Lesnar is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:59 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Frank Cote!
