Jones comes into the arena with Everybody Knows My Name blaring out of the sound system. Mercury Jones could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Kurt Steele's chin.

The judges for this bout are William Peck, Steve Smith and Alec Ball.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones lands a nice shot that snaps Steele's head back.
Steele throws a good cross that connects.
Jones swats away the attempt to clinch by Steele.
Steele is looking to clinch but Jones is avoiding it.
Steele instigates a clinch.
Jones wants to get back to striking at distance but Steele won't allow it.
Steele manages to break the clinch.
Steele shoots in but no luck this time.
Jones really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Jones misses with a head kick.

Jones lands a jab-cross combination.
Steele is rocked!
Steele drops his hands momentarily. Jones doesn't need a second invitation, landing a shot to the temple. Steele staggers and falls to the mat and the ref dives in to save him from any more punishment. Steele doesn't seem happy with the stoppage but he was done.
