The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Meridian has closed the distance and engaged Tijhoff in a clinch.
Tijhoff tries to throw a body punch but Meridian avoids it by throwing Tijhoff back against the cage.
Tijhoff lands a shoulder strike.
Tijhoff is looking to break free of the clinch but Meridian has double underhooks.
Tijhoff stalling.
Meridian tries for a takedown but Tijhoff manages to get underhooks.
Tijhoff can't find room to land a body shot as Meridian controls the action.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Tijhoff.

Tijhoff turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
Meridian is looking to regain half guard here but Tijhoff keeps moving and retains side control.

Tijhoff has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Meridian is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Tijhoff yanks on the arm and Meridian is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Tijhoff.
