Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Andy Liu (ranked 4714 p4p, 4228 weight class) and Demetrious Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 521 weight class). The key to victory for Andy Liu has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Liu clinches with his opponent.
Liu keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Johnson's efforts to push away.
The referee is keeping an eye on Liu - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.

Johnson pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Liu uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Johnson.

Johnson closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Liu's guard.

Johnson throws a series of punches but Liu avoids them all with ease.

Johnson moves into the clinch.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Liu wants to control from the top but Johnson keeps moving.

Johnson lands a nice looking body shot.
Liu throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Liu jabs at Johnson's body.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Johnson scores with a jab to the body.
Johnson lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Johnson takes the fight into the clinch.
A nice right hand lands inside from Johnson.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Liu enables Johnson to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Liu manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Johnson thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Johnson is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.

Liu tries a head kick but it misses.

Johnson is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Liu's half guard.

Johnson is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Liu to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Liu shrugs it off.
