Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Samuel Summers (ranked 1059 p4p, 1392 weight class) and Nero Hardy (ranked 146 p4p, 190 weight class). Nero Hardy has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Samuel Summers's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Samuel Summers!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Nero Hardy!
The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Jonathan Paton and John Roberts.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Summers jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Summers definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
A looping hook to the body misses from Hardy. Summers does a little dance to reset his feet.

Hardy clinches with his opponent.
Summers fails to land with a short punch on the inside.

Hardy makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.

Summers throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Hardys head.
Hardy lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Summers or not.

Summers breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Summers looks to land a right hand but Hardy moved out of range.
Hardy slips a straight right by Summers.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Hardy has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

and Summers connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Hardy wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Summers, who protects the arm well.

The referee asks Hardy politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Hardy prefers to stall for the moment though.

Hardy cracks Summers with an elbow. That is naaassty.
Hardy lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Hardy happy to just control the position for now.

Hardy has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Nero Hardy dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Summers throws a body punch but Hardy moves out of range.
Summers throws the left hand but Hardy avoids the punch easily.
Summers takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
A jab from Hardy finds it's way through Summers's defenses.
Hardy moves in looking to clinch but Summers pushes him off.
Summers just misses with a punch to the body.
Hardy uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Summers.
Summers throws a hook to the side of Hardy's head but Hardy sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Hardy tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.

Hardy shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Summers manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Hardy loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Hardy slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Summers wants to sweep but no luck.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Hardy cracks Summers with a solid left hand.
Summers can't keep his opponent in guard - Hardy advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Hardy connects with a nice short shot to Summers's temple.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.

Summers is looking to improve his position but Hardy isn't that keen on the idea.

Summers is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Oh Summers is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Hardy postures up and lands a whopping elbow - oh that's hurt Summers bigstyle! Two more strikes land for Hardy and the fight is over!

Nero Hardy very nearly forgot to thank Paddy's Enhancing Drugs (160Q) amongst all the excitement of his win but just as the interview came to a close, he screamed their name. Hopefully he'll get a few nice freebies in the mail as a thank you.
