PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Frank Dux (ranked 827 p4p, 1914 weight class) and Paul Kings (ranked 51 p4p, 109 weight class). Dux comes to the cage accompanied by Bloodsport. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Frank Dux!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Paul Kings!
The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Chad Campbell and Dean Styles.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kings tries to sprawl but Dux drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Dux is keen to just control but Kings is a slippery customer.
Dux prevents Kings from improving his position.
Dux will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Kings on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Kings is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Dux decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Dux fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Dux pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Kings is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Dux is landing with some decent strikes but Kings is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Dux really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Kings felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
Kings is bucking up trying to escape but Dux cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Kings tries to reverse the position but Dux maintains control.

Dux lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Dux's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

A big left from Kings misses.
Kings scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Dux doesn't seem bothered though.
Dux moves away from the strike by Kings.
Dux looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Kings is fending him off so far but Dux persists. Nope, Kings circles away and we're back to standing.

Kings tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Dux was well out of range. Poor timing from Kings.

Dux shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Kings as he jumps to the side.
Dux dives in and grabs Kings's left leg, looking for a takedown. Kings pushes down on Dux's head and hops out.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Dux, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
