The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wang tries to close the distance and clinch but Alphabet swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Wang scoring well with a low kick there.
Wang circles away from the clinch attempt.

Alphabet fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Wang sprawls well initially but Alphabet persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Wang manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Alphabet keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.

Wang drops down looking for an ankle pick but Alphabet pulls his leg out and moves away.

Alphabet gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Wang to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Wang is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
