Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Michael Fochi (ranked 2964 p4p, 2971 weight class) and Huena Ajuricaba (ranked 380 p4p, 381 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 8 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Michael Fochi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Huena Ajuricaba!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Percy O'Donnell and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fochi ducks under a wild hook from Ajuricaba.
The fighters circle momentarily. Fochi darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
A telegraphed right hand from Ajuricaba misses the target.
Fochi appears to be looking for a counter takedown.

We've been hearing reports that Fochi has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Fochi has gone for a leg lock! Ajuricaba slips out almost immediately though and dives into Fochi's guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Ajuricaba slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Fochi is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Fochi is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Ajuricaba is aware though and is defending well.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Ajuricaba really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Fochi. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

A nice side step and Ajuricaba releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.
A slapping body kick lands there for Ajuricaba.
Ajuricaba throws a hook to the side of Fochi's head but Fochi sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

and Ajuricaba counters with a crisp right hand that drops Fochi! Ajuricaba lets Fochi back up to his feet, looking for a finish!

It looks like Michael Fochi has been cut.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Oh Fochi is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Ajuricaba is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.
Ajuricaba is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Fochi.
Ajuricaba finds Fochi's off switch, with a big overhand right that connects perfectly to the side of the head! Fochi flops back against the cage, eyes gazing into the distance. Ajuricaba lands an unnecessary shot before the referee has time to step in and end the fight. Brutal stuff but I'm sure Fochi will be OK.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:14 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Huena Ajuricaba!
