Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Piston Honda (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Takahiro Kajita (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Takahiro Kajita is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Takahiro Kajita!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Hirohito Nitta and Yuuki Gou.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A punch combination from Honda misses.
Kajita blocks a head kick by Honda.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Honda looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Kajita fails with a takedown attempt.
Left hook, right uppercut from Honda.

It looks like Takahiro Kajita has been cut.
Kajita throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Honda's waist but Honda gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Kajita off to one side.
Honda fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Kajita is out of range.

Kajita shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Honda's guard.

Kajita trying to control but Honda is working from the bottom.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Honda is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Kajita is controlling him.

Kajita tries to free his leg and advance position but Honda is retaining full guard.
Kajita is looking to work some ground and pound but Honda has wrist control.
Kajita stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Honda swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Kajita trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Kajita wants to clinch.
Kajita misses with a looping left.
Honda looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Honda stalks Kajita and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Kajita's face. Kajita staggers backwards, shaken.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Oooh a lovely combination from Honda sends Kajita down but not out. Honda dives into side control looking to finish.

Kajita is rocked!

Honda stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Kajita is still on wobbly legs! Can Honda finish him?
A head kick misses from Honda.
Honda misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Kajita seems to have recovered his senses.

Kajita gets a takedown into half guard.
Honda is breathing heavily.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Honda wants to get back to his feet.
Kajita looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Honda is staying active underneath Kajita, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Kajita is just content to waste time from the top position. Honda takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
Kajita loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Honda keeping moving, preventing Kajita from controlling successfully.
Honda controls Kajita momentarily but Kajita frees himself.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Kajita tries to close the distance and clinch up against the ropes but Honda paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Honda has Kajita up against the ropes in a clinch.

Honda escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Kajita takes a kick to the side of the head.
Nice sprawl there from Honda as Kajita shoots in.
Piston Honda has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Takahiro Kajita.
Kajita avoids the head kick by Honda.
Honda buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Honda lands a high kick to the side of Kajita's head that stuns him and send him tumbling down to the canvas! Honda dives into guard, looking to finish.

That has opened up Takahiro Kajita's cut even more.

Kajita had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Honda is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Kajita Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Honda's back instead.
Honda controlling the position well but he knows he's in a bad position.
Kajita tries to get the hooks in deep but Honda pushed the leg off.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Honda tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Piston Honda dominated that round.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the ring so we can get back down to business.

Kajita shoots in but no luck this time.

Honda lands a brutal head kick. Kajita looks out on his feet and Honda throws more strikes until the ref is forced to stop the fight!
