The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wilcox throws a nice head kick!

It looks like Walay Buut has been cut.

Wilcox feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Buuts jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

We've been hearing reports that Wilcox has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.

Buut is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Wilcox gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Wilcox leaves Buut with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Wilcox buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Buut's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.

Wilcox's corner calls for a 1-2. Wilcox obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.

Wilcox fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Buut sprawls well initially but Wilcox persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Wilcox is nestled in close to Buut, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Wilcox has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Wilcox lands a high kick to the side of Buut's head that stuns him and send him tumbling down to the canvas! Wilcox dives into guard, looking to finish.

Donovan Wilcox seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
BOOM! Wilcox lands a beautiful left hook that drops Buut. Buut tries to recover but Wilcox is having none of it, landing more punishing shots from mount. One final crushing shot and Buut lies motionless on the canvas. The fight is over!
