This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the super heavyweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of Rio de Janeiro, with a TWGC record of 2 wins and 1 losses; Helio Machado! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Helsinki, with a TWGC record of 6 wins and 1 losses; Darius Gracie!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Yves DeLean and William Peck.
The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way.
Machado pushes Gracie up against the cage in a clinch.
Gracie fails to pull guard.
Machado pulls guard.
Gracie is stalling in the full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Gracie got a little sloppy there for a moment and Machado has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Gracie has managed to get both his arms back between Machado's legs - danger averted.
Gracie wants to pass the guard but Machado is keeping the position.
Gracie slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Machado definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Machado working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Gracie doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Gracie manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Gracie tries to free his leg and advance position but Machado is retaining full guard.

Gracie avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Machado looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Gracie's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

Oh but Machado is tightening it up a little... Gracie has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Gracie reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Gracie taps out! Nice BJJ there by Machado!
