The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hartwell looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Berkut shoots for a takedown but Hartwell saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Hartwell throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Hartwell is trying hard to land a takedown here. Berkut sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Berkut shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Hartwell sprawls well. Hartwell wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Berkut gets slowly back to his feet.
Hartwell rushes in with a sloppy looking punch

and Berkut counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Berkut.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hartwell has momentary wrist control but Berkut slips an elbow through the middle.

Hartwell is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Berkut has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

A very excited looking Kirill Berkut rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
