The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Robert Twigg and Chris Downing.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nobukara misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Nobukara throws a leg kick but Penn moved away.
Penn blocks a head kick by Nobukara.
Nobukara throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Nobukara comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Nobukara tries to bum rush Penn with a series of wild strikes but Penn uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Nobukara ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Penn shoots in but Nobukara avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Nobukara tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Nobukara dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Penn throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Nobukara's waist but Nobukara gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Penn off to one side.
A nice inside leg kick there by Nobukara. That's going to slow Penn down.
Penn avoids the head kick by Nobukara.
Nobukara cracks Penn with a right hand to the side of the head.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Penn takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Nobukara thows a body shot but no joy.
Horrible takedown by Penn or perhaps it was just good defense by Nobukara which made him look bad.
Hayato Nobukara has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of BJ Penn.
Penn stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Nobukara.
Penn on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Penn takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Nobukara misses with a few strikes there.
Nobukara misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Nobukara fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Penn.
Hayato Nobukara seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Penn stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Nobukara.
Nice jab there from Nobukara.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Nobukara fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Penn looks gassed!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Penn closes the distance and clinches up with Nobukara, looking for a takedown. Penn pushes Nobukara against the cage but Nobukara circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Penn has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Penn there as he acknowledges the shot.
Penn doesn't manage to clinch there - Nobukara circles away.
Nobukara misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Nobukara throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Nobukara plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!

Penn is rocked!
Nobukara is throwing a storm of strikes! Right hook, left hook and follows it up with a spinning back fist! Penn hits the canvas like a rag doll! And just like that, this one is over!
