Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Dick Pawlik (ranked 31 p4p, 48 weight class) and Cornelius Myers (ranked 4 p4p, 5 weight class). Pawlik comes to the cage accompanied by John Butler - Ocean . Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 27 - 12 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Dick Pawlik!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Cornelius Myers!
The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Kenichi Hosakawa and Sosuke Kotani.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Myers looks to land a right hand but Pawlik moved out of range.
Myers has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Pawlik throws a lazy right hand but Myers sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Pawlik just misses with a punch to the body.
Myers was about to counter that last move with a leg kick but changes his mind.
Myers takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Pawlik has been working on his boxing with his coaches at McGrady FT in the buildup to the fight.
Myers takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Pawlik misses with a wild body shot.
Pawlik throws an overhand right that lands on Myers's shoulder, as Myers tries to avoid the shot.
Nice defenses there by Pawlik.
Pawlik throws a poor cross that misses
and Myers counters with a nice kick to the body.
Myers jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Myers throws a body shot but no joy.
Myers misses with a hook. Pawlik ducked under it nicely.
Pawlik attempts a counter takedown but Myers avoids it well and moves away.
A decent looking cross lands there for Pawlik.
Myers walks into a stiff left hand from Pawlik.
A jab from Pawlik misses.
Myers ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Nice uppercut lands for Pawlik. That snapped Myers's head back.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Pawlik swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Pawlik drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Pawlik shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Pawlik showed some decent athleticism there.
Myers is looking for a sweep. Pawlik is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Pawlik is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Myers has managed to free his arm - good work.
Pawlik taking a breather but there's no such thing in a fight! Myers has locked on to a kimura from the bottom - he uses it to sweep and is now looking to finish from the top position! He's got it! Pawlik has tapped! Great work by Myers! Lay and pray doesn't pay, kids! Just remember, you heard it here first.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:41 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Cornelius Myers!
