Coming up we have a super heavyweight kickboxing rules bout between Andrei Sobral (ranked 5854 p4p, 21705 weight class) and Jihadi John (ranked 191 p4p, 217 weight class). John is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Ali-A. Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.

The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Hirohito Nitta.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No joy there for Sobral, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
John scores with a jab. Sobral acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Sobral has been working on his boxing with his coaches at London MMA Club in the buildup to the fight.
Sobral avoids a punch combination nicely.
Sobral throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Sobral steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from John . That one must have hurt.
John misses with a kick to the body.
John misses with an uppercut. Sobral saw that one coming.
Sobral throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
John has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
John avoids a punch combination nicely.

Sobral moves into the clinch.
Sobral tries to break free but John pushes him back against the ropes.
John misses with a knee to the head.
John blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

John creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.

John tries to work over Sobral's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
John throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Sobral blocks it with crossed arms.

Sobral breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

John comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.

John tries a knee to the head but Sobral blocks it.
Sobral stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Sobral escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Jihadi John seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Jihadi John will probably get the nod.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
That's time! Sobral's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Both fighters circle each other, looking for something big. Sobral moves in and throws an overhand right. That hurt John ! Sobral continues to tee off on John , landing with a left and a right! Sobral connects with a right hand that leaves John sleeping against the ropes! What a finish by Sobral!
