Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Dave Whitewas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Francesco Aquino (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Aquino is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by The Godfather theme. Francesco Aquino told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Whitewas shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Whitewas was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Whitewas misses with a head shot.
Whitewas throwing strikes here but Aquino is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
Aquino is working to get back to half guard.
Aquino tries to hold on but Whitewas pushes him away.
Whitewas trying to control but Aquino is having none of it.
Whitewas working away from the top, dropping strikes.
Aquino should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Aquino is desperately trying to improve his position but Whitewas has a good base and remains in mount.

Aquino tries to lock up and control but Whitewas gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Aquino avoids a series of strikes thrown by Whitewas.
Aquino tries to reverse the position but Whitewas maintains control.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Aquino tries to hold on but Whitewas postures up.
Whitewas is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Aquino is surviving well by controlling Whitewas's body position as best he can.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. Aquino looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out! That must have been tighter than I thought! Excellent work there by Whitewas! Submission of the night perhaps?
