Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jon Rambo (ranked 22021 p4p, 17397 weight class) and Cajetan Shashi (ranked 261 p4p, 234 weight class). Jon Rambo could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Cajetan Shashi's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 26 - 0, fighting out of London, Jon Rambo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 24 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Cajetan Shashi!
The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Shirou Masuda and Yuuki Gou.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Rambo drives through with a takedown into guard.

Shashi is looking for a triangle but Rambo pushes his legs off easily.
Shashi wants to sweep but no luck.
Shashi is still trying to improve position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Rambo is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Shashi striking off his back but it's not causing Rambo any problems.

Shashi has his foot on Rambo's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Rambo works his way back into a safe position though.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Rambo is pushing down on Shashi's leg trying to pass to half guard. Shashi is fighting to maintain full guard but Rambo has managed to sneak the leg through.

Rambo looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Shashi looks like he's trying to stand up.

Shashi is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Rambo pulls his head out easily.

Rambo is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Rambo decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Rambo throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Shashi was covering up waiting for the punch and Rambo finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Shashi manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Rambo manages to get himself to full guard.

Shashi postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Rambo is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Shashi, into his guard.

Rambo slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Shashi wants to stand up but Rambo is controlling him.
Rambo trying to control the position from guard on top but Shashi is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Shashi is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Rambo defends well.

Shashi throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Rambo escapes and throws Shashi's legs to the side, diving into side control!
We've been hearing that Rambo has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.
Shashi stops Rambo from passing to mount.
Shashi is looking to regain half guard here but Rambo keeps moving and retains side control.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Shashi manages to get back to half guard.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Jon Rambo dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Rambo closes the distance and pushes Shashi back into the cage.

Shashi pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Rambo fails with a takedown attempt.
Shashi throws a head kick that Rambo semi-blocks.
Shashi chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Cajetan Shashi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Rambo gets caught flat footed, as Shashi shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Rambo escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Shashi gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Rambo looking for subs off his back but Shashi has passed one foot through into half guard.

Rambo regains full guard. Nicely done.
Shashi postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Shashi won't allow Rambo to sweep him here.
Shashi wants to pass the guard but Rambo is keeping the position.
Shashi is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Rambo is working an open guard so Shashi takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Shashi shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Shashi showed some decent athleticism there.

Rambo kicks Shashi off and gets back to his feet.
Shashi throws a sloppy head kick and Rambo moves out of range easily.
Rambo appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
Shashi misses with a jab, cross combination.
Rambo shoots for a double leg takedown but Shashi sprawls well. He's pushed Rambo's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Jon Rambo is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Shashi leaves Rambo with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jon Rambo. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Shashi throws a sloppy head kick and Rambo moves out of range easily.
Nice uppercut there from Shashi.

Rambo instigates a clinch.

Rambo tries to pull guard but Shashi holds him up against the cage and eventually Rambo drops back down to his feet.

Shashi gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.

Rambo has his feet on Shashi's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
Shashi cracks Rambo with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.

Rambo closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Shashi pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Shashi stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Rambo swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Rambo manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Shashi manages to get himself to full guard.

And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Cajetan Shashi will probably get the nod - 10:9.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Rambo looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

Rambo is looking for a kimura but Shashi is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Rambo to get the leverage.
Shashi has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Rambo is working away from the top position though.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Rambo in particular looking to stall.

Rambo tries to stand but can't do so whilst Shashi controls his leg.
Shashi has a hand on Rambo's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Rambo takes advantage of the position though and mounts him!
Shashi wants to control but Rambo is having none of it.
Shashi manages to regain half guard. Good work.
Rambo wants to stand but Shashi has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.
Shashi is pressing down on Rambo's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Jon Rambo overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Rambo stands up from Shashi's guard - Rambo perhaps looking for a knockout.
Shashi throws a series of strikes that have Rambo backpedaling.
Shashi tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Nice uppercut there from Shashi.
Shashi works over Rambo's head and body with a nice combination.
Shashi defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Rambo.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Shashi! But no joy.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Rambo shoots in but no luck this time.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Shashi changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Rambo looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Rambo wants to control but Shashi postures up.
Shashi wants to lay and pray for a moment but Rambo keeps working.
Rambo is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Shashi off and has taken his back!
Shashi is in a world of trouble here. He's outmatched on the ground here and he'd better get Rambo off his back sharpish unless he wants to be submitted.

Rambo is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.

Shashi is trying to get back to his feet but Rambo has full control of the position and if anything, Shashi has just worked his way into a worse spot.

Rambo is working for a rear naked choke. Shashi is not defending it well and Rambo has tightened it up quickly! This could be all over! Shashi refuses to tap and goes to sleep, forcing the referee to intervene. A little trickle of blood came out of Shashi's nose as his head slumped to the floor. That is naaaasty!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:59 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Jon Rambo!
