PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Billy Cubbedge (ranked 2592 p4p, 3904 weight class) and Tua Taamu (ranked 103 p4p, 159 weight class). Tua Taamu told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tua Taamu!
The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Yuuki Gou.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A nice leg kick lands there from Taamu.
Cubbedge throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Taamu stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Cubbedge feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Cubbedge is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Taamu has Cubbedge pulled in close to control his posture.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Taamu is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Cubbedge postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Taamu thows a leg kick but Cubbedge checks it
and Cubbedge counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Taamu throws a looping overhand right but Cubbedge ducks down to avoid it.
Taamu is looking to chop away at Cubbedge 's legs.
Cubbedge was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.

Cubbedge cracks Taamu with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Cubbedge has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Taamu to stand back up!

Taamu is rocked!

It looks like Tua Taamu has been cut.
Tua Taamu seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Cubbedge works Taamu's body with a nice hook.
Taamu is still on wobbly legs! Can Cubbedge finish him?

Cubbedge cracks Taamu with a brutal left hook that knocks him out cold! This one is over in a flash! Game over!
