Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Richie Alaska (ranked 2691 p4p, 3192 weight class) and Akhtar Assad (ranked 304 p4p, 345 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Richie Alaska!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Akhtar Assad!
The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Dmitry Maklakov and Vladimir Khabensky.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alaska looks to score with a jab to the body but Assad is just out of range.
Alaska misses with a wild body shot.
Assad displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Alaska throws out the jab.
Assad fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Alaska manages to avoid it.
Alaska misses with an uppercut
and Assad connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Assad has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.

Richie Alaska seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Assad tries to bum rush Alaska with a series of wild strikes but Alaska uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
It looked like Alaska was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Assad.

That was a close round but I would say that Richie Alaska will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

I have no idea who won that fight. Let's wait and see whether the judges are as confused as me! Time for a split decision perhaps?!. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
