Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Cody Evans!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Gwen Towbar and Chris Downing.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Schmidt connects with a nice looking jab.
Evans misses with a series of wild punches.
Evans looks to land a left hand but Schmidt moved out of range nicely.
Schmidt lands a nice shot to the body.

It looks like Jans Schmidt has been cut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Evans takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Schmidt tries to close the distance and clinch up but Evans swats him away and circles back towards the center.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Evans has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

Schmidt is rocked!
Evans lands with a right that hurts Schmidt. Schmidt looks to clinch but Evans throws a short knee that drops Schmidt. This one is all over!
