Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Corwin Anstey (ranked 2390 p4p, 2072 weight class) and Ragnar Ragnarsson (ranked 311 p4p, 278 weight class). Ragnar Ragnarsson has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Corwin Anstey!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 20 - 15 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ragnar Ragnarsson!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Elvis Blanc and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ragnarsson misses with an uppercut. Anstey saw that one coming.
Anstey is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Ragnarsson.
Anstey throws a nice looking combination but Ragnarsson bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Anstey walks into a stiff left hand from Ragnarsson.

Ragnarsson looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.

Anstey decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Ragnarsson can do anything to dispel that myth.

We've been told by Anstey's head coaches at Sparks gym that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Anstey seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Ragnarsson does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Anstey's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Ragnarsson breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Ragnarsson is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Anstey.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Anstey shoots in but Ragnarsson avoids the takedown attempt easily.

It looks like Corwin Anstey has been cut.

Ragnarsson cracks Anstey with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Anstey looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Ragnarsson finish him?

Anstey is rocked!
Ragnarsson lands hard precision jab right on the jaw that stiffens Anstey up and sends him tumbling to the mat! The ref grabs Ragnarsson from behind before he can pounce. Some folks in the crowd didn't like that stoppage, but I saw Anstey's eyes roll way back in his head, he was done.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:41 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Ragnar Ragnarsson!
