PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Pete Dunham (ranked 1334 p4p, 1650 weight class) and Roch Doisneau (ranked 33 p4p, 44 weight class). Dunham comes into the arena with Im Forever Blowing Bubbles blaring out of the sound system. Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Pete Dunham!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Roch Doisneau!
The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Shigeki Fujiwara and Shigeki Sano.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Doisneau sets himself and throws a head kick that knocks Dunham to the ground! Doisneau dives into full mount looking to finish!

It looks like Pete Dunham has been cut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Dunham tries to buck Doisneau off but Doisneau takes his back!
Doisneau slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Dunham is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Doisneau is looking to control Dunham but Dunham is wriggling around and keeping busy.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Dunham's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Doisneau steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Dunham.
Pete Dunham seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Dunham buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Dunham tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.

Roch Doisneau seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Doisneau lands with a straight right. Dunham didn't see that one coming.

and Doisneau counters with a leg kick.
Oh Dunham is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Doisneau lunges in with a left hook that violently twists Dunham head around and knocks him out cold! Doisneau hops onto the cage and yells out at the top of his lungs - Yeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaah! They're showing the replay on the big screens now; that was nasty! I hope one of the photographers got a good shot of it.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:51 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Roch Doisneau!
Our winner, Roch Doisneau, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
