PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight kickboxing rules bout between Jon Talbain (ranked 23860 p4p, 23753 weight class) and Boxing Powerhous (ranked 202 p4p, 194 weight class). Talbain is coming into this fight with a significant injury, which will no doubt have an effect on his cardio. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jon Talbain!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 11 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Boxing Powerhous!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Wesley Smith and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Talbain blocks a leg kick.
Talbain seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
Talbain is breathing heavily.
A head kick misses from Powerhous.
Talbain misses with a straight right.
Powerhous scores with a jab to the body.
Talbain moves out of range of the body kick.
Talbain went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.

Powerhous closes the distance and scores with a big combo that sends Talbain crashing to the mat! Talbain uses the ropes to get back to his feet and beat the count. The referee looks concerned but he's going to allow it to continue!

It looks like Jon Talbain has been cut.
Powerhous wants to land a leg kick but Talbain is out of range.
Powerhous throws a series of punches but Talbain moves out of range.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Powerhous is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Powerhous looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Powerhous will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Powerhous tries to land a front kick but Talbain steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.

Powerhous closes the distance and pushes Talbain back into the ropes.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Talbain on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Powerhous leaning his opponent against the ropes.
Talbain misses with the head strike.
Talbain tries to break the clinch but Powerhous is controlling the position.
Powerhous has Talbain pressed against the ropes, preventing Talbain from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
A nice right hand lands inside from Powerhous.
Powerhous holding his opponent close, against the ropes.
Talbain definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Powerhous softening up his opponent with strikes, against the ropes.
Powerhous is trying to force a seperation but Talbain has the dominant position.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
Both fighters working to control the clinch.
Maybe Talbain would be better served going for some more strikes rather than trying to control so much.

Powerhous wants to break the clinch but can't.
Powerhous is looking to break free of the clinch but Talbain has double underhooks.
Powerhous looks to throw an elbow but misses.
A battle for position here, against the ropes.
Powerhous dictating the pace here, as the fighters clinch against the ropes.

Powerhous pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Powerhous clinches with his opponent.

Powerhous manages to break the clinch.
Talbain tries to clinch but Powerhous moves out of range.
Talbain wants to clinch.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Talbain tried to score with a low kick but Powerhous checks it.

Powerhous clinches up against the ropes.

Powerhous escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Powerhous lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Talbain circles away quickly and effectively.

Powerhous darts in and clinches Talbain up against the ropes.
Good anti-grappling being displayed by Talbain as Powerhous tries to tie him up.

Powerhous breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Powerhous scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Powerhous moves in looking to clinch but Talbain pushes him off.

Powerhous clinches up with Talbain and pushes him back against the ropes.
Powerhous trying to stall but Talbain improves his position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Powerhous tries to break the clinch but Talbain is controlling the position.

Powerhous breaks from the clinch.
Powerhous throws a body kick that misses.
Powerhous misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Talbain avoids a punch combination nicely.

Powerhous closes the distance and clinches.
Powerhous misses with an elbow over the top.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Powerhous lands a left hand.
Stalling in the clinch from Powerhous.

Powerhous breaks the clinch.

Powerhous closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the ropes.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Having scored a knockdown, Boxing Powerhous should take round 1, putting pressure on his opponene back strong in round 2.
The cut man is working on Jon Talbain's cut.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the ring so we can get back down to business.

Talbain tries a head kick but it misses.

Powerhous catches his opponent with a big hook that sends him to the canvas! Talbain stumbles back to his feet but will the referee allow it to continue? Talbain walks forwards and this one will be allowed to continue! Come on!

Talbain is rocked!
Powerhous throws a leg kick but Talbain sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Powerhous throws a right hand that Talbain ducks under and follows up with a left that Talbain also avoids with ease.
Powerhous and Talbain are patiently standing in front of each other looking for an opening. Powerhous throws a head kick. It's landed, knocking Talbain into next week! Ooooh that was huge! Powerhous knows it - he's on the ropes flexing is biceps. That's a bit weird considering he won by kick but whatever.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:24 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Boxing Powerhous!
