Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Bert River (ranked 1083 p4p, 1154 weight class) and Crush Bandicoot (ranked 119 p4p, 126 weight class). River comes to the cage accompanied by Five Finger Death Punch- Bad Company. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 10 - 0, fighting out of New York, Bert River!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 25 - 18 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Crush Bandicoot!
The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Shigeki Sano and Yasuomi Hirokawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bandicoot needs to keep his hands up - River had a free shot at his head there.
A low kick lands for River.
River looks to score with a jab to the body but Bandicoot is just out of range.
Bandicoot looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
River pushing out the jab but it's not landing.

River clinches up with Bandicoot and pushes him back against the cage.
River throws a punch but it's blocked by Bandicoot.
Bandicoot misses with a punch to the body.
Bandicoot blocking some punches.
River lands a left hand.
River misses with a hook to the ribs.
River struggles to land a body shot inside as Bandicoot controls his hands.
Bandicoot looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
River goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Bandicoot tries to throw a body punch but River avoids it by throwing Bandicoot back against the cage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
River misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Bandicoot has a couple of punches blocked by River.
Bandicoot drops to a knee looking for a takedown but River gets the underhooks and prevents it.
River lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Bandicoot backwards.
Bandicoot wants to get back to striking at distance but River won't allow it.

River has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
River stands up over Bandicoot, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Bandicoot is on top in guard.

River controls Bandicoot momentarily but Bandicoot frees himself.

River is looking for a triangle but Bandicoot pushes his legs off easily.

River has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Bandicoot can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Bandicoot avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

River is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Bandicoot is aware though and is defending well.
River has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

River is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Bandicoot tries to free his leg and advance position but River is retaining full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

River had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Bandicoot defends it easily.

River working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Bandicoot has passed into half guard!
River wants to get back to full guard.
Bandicoot not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Bandicoot takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

River regains full guard. Nicely done.
Bandicoot wants to control from the top but River keeps moving.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

That was a close round but I would say that Bert River will probably get the nod.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!

River throws a shot from downtown. Bandicoot moves away and avoids it.
River misses with an uppercut.
River swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Bandicoot checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.

A nice side step and Bandicoot releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.
River comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
River looks to score with a jab to the body but Bandicoot is just out of range.
Bandicoot slips a straight right by River.
Bandicoot throws a left and a right that both miss
and River counters with a solid body kick.
River throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
River scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Bandicoot slips a jab and a cross from River.
River wants to clinch up but Bandicoot keeps it at a distance.
Bandicoot lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.

It looks like Bert River has been cut.

Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from River.
River is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Bandicoot.
River scores with a leg kick.
Nice uppercut there from Bandicoot.
Bandicoot ducks under a wild hook from River.
Bandicoot takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
River takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
River looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Bert River is winning the standup battle so far.
Bandicoot throws a series of punches but River avoids them all with ease.
River misses with a looping left.
River thows a leg kick but Bandicoot checks it
letting Bandicoot counter with a right hand.
River looks to land a right hand but Bandicoot moved out of range.
Bandicoot lands a straight punch to the body, keeping River at a distance.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
River takes one on the chin but keeps coming.

River is rocked!
River displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Bandicoot throws out the jab.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
River takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Oh River is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Bert River seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Bandicoot rushes River and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Bandicoot lands a big right hand that drops River! The killer instinct kicks in and Bandicoot finishes his opponent with a series of strikes from mount. A dominating finish by Bandicoot!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:14 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Crush Bandicoot!
An out of breath Crush Bandicoot thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
